Njara Rasolomanana.

Dancer, choreographer, and Artistic Director

Njara Rasolomanana, Dancer, choreographer, and artistic director from Madagascar residing in Finland and organizing international dance projects in Finland and Madagascar.

 

He works as a dance teacher for his studio in Helsinki and at Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki.
 

His career as a dancer started in 2000 with the Hip Hop dance company "Up The Rap." The company is focusing on researching the similarities between traditional dances and urban dance forms found in Hip Hop cultures.

Mr. Rasolomanana has many years of experience in managing international art projects, which encompasses managing a Europe-Africa tour from 2000 to 2006, leading the Tanzanian National team to the African Street Dance Championships in 2011, and working as the Artistic Director of Danceteam International Oy in Finland for a duration of five years from 2013 to 2018.

He was the official organizer of Battle Of The Year Madagascar in 2018 and Battle of the Year Nordic Baltic in 2018 and 2019.

 

Njara holds a bachelor's degree in Art Management and has successfully collaborated on numerous projects with recognized partners and institutions across the globe. Since 2014, he has established his event called Ambony Ambany.

This event aims to promote "peace" through the art of dance. The events were held in Finland, Belgium, Tanzania, and Madagascar, and attracted over 700 dancers and thousands of spectators yearly.

Currently, he owns a dance studio in Helsinki, Finland that promotes artists and art from African backgrounds and a Residency center in Antananarivo, Madagascar that professionalizes local artists and welcomes international collaborations.

 

Over the last 10 years, he has engaged in partnerships with international dance and theater organizations, private companies, Ngos, government institutions  as well as collaborated with local choreographers in both countries.
